Raufeon Stots “This Don’t Stop Now” With Danny Sabatello

Raufeon Stots bested Danny Sabatello in their rematch by way of a unanimous decision at Bellator 301 on November 17th.

The excerpt from my interaction with Stots at the post-fight press conference can be found below.

I’m just curious because you’ve obviously done tremendous things in Bellator, title accolades, etc. Is this win especially important considering the personal nature of the rivalry?

“Yeah, anytime Danny; anytime Danny is there and I get to hit him and get a win over him is a good day. So yeah, I think that personal rivalry and I needed somebody like that. I needed somebody you know, that’s going to talk smack back and kind of like challenge me. He fought an amazing fight, I ain’t gonna lie. So yeah, it definitely means more because y’all don’t understand, this don’t stop now.”

Raufeon Stots continued, “Like I’m gonna probably DM probably about two of his coaches. I’m gonna probably DM back-and-forth talking s*** and then he got probably like four of his homies that DM me talking s***. So I’ll be talking s*** for about a week, you know, so it’s fun times. It’s a fun time.”

I was gonna say you likened him to your kid a couple of times. I was gonna say was Clarence Bubba (Stots’ son) not allowed to watch this Bellator 301 contest because of the bad language?

“No, no, Clarence they can’t stay nowhere near this fight. This fight (laughs); they in the hotel room somewhere. I’m gonna probably keep this fight away from them as long as I can. Because I said a lot of bad words and Clarence already got in trouble for saying bad words. So I gotta keep it away from him.”

The last one for me because I mean, it seems like where you’re at in the rankings hierarchy and everything and just with Patchy Mix and everything. I mean, that rematch would seem like it would make a great deal of sense but just considering the uncertainty of the promotion, is there a level of frustration in that regard or is it just kind of focus on what’s within your control?

“For me, I’m just focusing on what I can control. I’m gonna take whatever opportunities are afforded to me. I’mma just put out there what I would like, kind of where I would like to be. But yeah, I’m always taking whoever they put in front of me. As far as the Bellator projection, I don’t know nothing. So it’s no use to me kind of worrying about that.”

Raufeon Stots continued, “I’ll let the higher ups that’s kind of above my paygrade. I’m gonna focus on what I can focus on and that’s getting better. Because if I do get to fight Patchy again, I gotta come with it. I gotta be ready to take him out. So yeah, I’m just focused on that.”
