Russian MMA fighter accidentally stabs training partner with axe
Russian mixed martial artist Maxim Novoselov (9-2-1) accidentally stabbed his friend and training partner in the gym. A video of the bizarre occurrence has been released online.
Andrey Kynyazev was holding a shield while ‘Mad Max’ Novoselov swung an axe that went through the shield, piercing Kynyazev’s arm.
“That day me and Maxim wanted to shoot something special, but it went wrong,” Kynyazev said after the incident, according to The Daily Mail.
“’It took four weeks to recover. Of course, I got to hospital where I had two stitches. It still hasn’t recovered perfectly and I have a scar now.”
Novoselov reportedly received the axe as a gift and Kynyazev was training to lose weight. They should probably find safer means of weight loss.
