UFC signs boxing great Holly Holm, undefeated in MMA, to contract
Forget about all the talk about Cyborg coming to the UFC women’s bantamweight division to challenge champion Ronda Rousey. The other major threat was just signed according to UFC President Dana White.
White sent out a tweet with an instagram photo of himself holding a contract side by side a photo of Holly Holm with the message “Welcome to the UFC @_hollyholm”
Holm who is currently rehabbing a broken arm from her last fight is undefeated. Even more impressive than that, she was a championship boxer before switching sports.
At 32 years of age Holm is 7-0 in MMA, 2-1 in kickboxing and 33-2-3 in boxing. She is an 18-time world champion boxer in three separate weight classes.
On April 4, 2014, Holm faced Juliana Werner for the inaugural Legacy FC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. She broke her arm in the first round yet still went on to win the bout and title via TKO in the fifth round due to a head kick and punches.
