WSOF 22 results and LIVE prelim video stream – Palhares vs Shields

WSOF 22 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas aired on NBCSN following prelims which were on MyMMANews.com beginning at 8 p.m.

The main event was a battle of crafty jiu-jitsu experts Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields going at it for Palhares’ WSOF welterweight title.

Palhares (17-6), one of the most dangerous submission artists in the game while Shields (31-7-1) is no slouch on the ground either.  Would the strength of Palhares be enough to submit a fighter with a pedigree like Shields?

Several times during the fight Palhares was warned for gouging or raking the eyes of his opponent.  Then, once he applied a submission hold, like he has done with several opponents before Shields, held the lock longer than he needed.

In the co-main event bantamweight titleholder Marlon Moraes submitted Sheymon Moraes.  The champion is now on aneight fight WSOF win streak while his opponent who bears the same last name was previously undefeated with four of his seven wins coming via KO or TKO.
