ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke news on this high stakes heavyweight prizefight.
Per sources, Ciryl Gane (@ciryl_gane) vs. Alexander Volkov (@AlexDragoVolkov) will headline UFC Fight Night on June 26. Big fight for both. And possibly of note, Derrick Lewis still without a dance partner as of now. Top of that division still in the air. https://t.co/K6Q1Rs0jxA

The location for this possible title eliminator is still yet to be determined as of this writing.
Alexander Volkov vs Ciryl Gane pits the number five heavyweight against the number four heavyweight, respectively. These numbers per the UFC’s official rankings.
Alexander Volkov vs Ciryl Gane
Volkov has over forty professional mixed martial arts bouts under his belt. The former M1 Global vet also captured the Bellator heavyweight championship and a couple of Bellator tournament championships before journeying to the UFC.
Drago has been competing in the octagon since November 2016 and is 7-2 under the UFC banner. He enters this contest on the heels of back-to-back second-round knockout victories over Walt Harris and most recently Alistair Overeem.
Gane is 8-0 as a pro-MMA fighter and has a five-fight UFC winning streak at this juncture. He carved his name out on the Canadian MMA circuit, capturing and successfully defending the TKO heavyweight championship inside of his first three fights.
Bon Gamin crossed over to the UFC thereafter and made his debut in August 2019.
His last couple of bouts have seen him dispatch former UFC champion Junior Dos Santos. Gane also garnered a lopsided unanimous decision victory over ranked contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
There are certainly question marks that abound in the heavyweight title picture.
When will Francis Ngannou make the first defense of his world championship? Who will be the first contender for the gold between Jon Jones and Derrick Lewis?
The winner of Volkov versus Gane almost are in an ideal position to see some of these questions at the top get answered. To have some clarity provided to the upper tier of the weight category.
