Andrew Osborne, former MMA fighter, charged with murder

A Philadelphia man, and former professional mixed martial artist, was charged with murder for the fatal stabbing of a man whose body was found in a room at Ocean Casino Resort last week.

Andrew Osborne, 34, was arrested in Philadelphia as a result of an investigation into the stabbing Friday afternoon, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities said Brian Wilkinson, 47, of Egg Harbor Township, was found dead at around 1:30 p.m. after having been stabbed multiple times. Wilkinson’s obituary states that his death was “tragic and sudden.”

Osborne allegedly stabbed Wilkinson in the head and neck in Wilkinson’s room and then left wearing his victim’s shoes and pants, according to an affidavit of probable cause from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office outlining murder and weapons charges against the Philadelphia man.

Wilkinson checked in alone at about 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 22. He was last seen on security cameras walking toward his room at about 10 p.m. His body was found at about 1:30 p.m. the following day.  The connection of the two men is not currently known.

Osbourne last competed in MMA in August 2017 at CES 45. He retired with a pro record of 7-11-1. He fought for several other regional promotions in Pennsylvania as well as World Series of Fighting where he was forced to submit by now Revolt Fighting League owner, Ozzy Dugulubgov.

Prosecutors said that Osborne is being held in Pennsylvania awaiting extradition to New Jersey. The investigation is said to be active and ongoing.
