Co-headlining the event was a lightweight encounter between former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett (19-3) and former CFFC featherweight champion Jared Gordon (19-5).

Our second bout on the main card tonight came in the middleweight division between former welterweight title challenger Darren Till (18-4-1) and former EFC & KSW welterweight champion Dricus du Plessis (17-2).

Du Plessis absolutely mauls and batters Till throughout the first four minutes of the opening round. He has him tied up along the fence for much of it, landing multiple series’ of vicious punches. With one minute left in the round, du Plessis is on Till’s back with a body triangle secured, and he’s up 60-0 in the striking totals.

Till ends up creating a scramble, where he locks up a guillotine choke and uses it to get back to his feet. Till then drops du Plessis and reigns down some ground and pound. However, du Plessis is able to regain top position and ends the round on top.

That could’ve been a 10-8 round for du Plessis, Till truly took an absurd amount of damage throughout it.

Till has a much better second round, as he handily pieces du Plessis up throughout the first four minutes. He does however end the round on his back with du Plessis cranking on a foot lock; du Plessis has attempted five takedowns and he’s secured all of them.

Till isn’t giving off much offense in the third, though he’s still controlling the striking.

Du Plessis then secures yet another takedown and jumps straight to mount. Till gives up his back and is forced to tap moments later.

Darren Till is now 18-5-1 after beginning his career at 17-0-1, what a fall it’s been. He looked good tonight, if only he could have stuffed some of those takedowns.

Dricus Du Plessis on the other hand is now 18-2, as he improves to 4-0 (two knockouts, one submission) inside the octagon tonight at UFC 282. This was the ninth fight of the night, and it looked for a minute like it’d be the first decision of the night. Instead, it became the ninth finish of the night, what a legendary card this has been.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
