Joey Milano confident heading into middleweight title fight at Art of War Cage Fighting 36

Art of War Cage Fighting 36 takes place Saturday night, June 15th at the Valley Forge, PA Casino and the fight card is looking pretty damn good.  The main event features defending AOW featherweight champion Christian Lopez against the 140 lb champ, Shawn Stefanelli, who won an epic battle with Matt Turnbull to get the title showdown at 145 lbs.  Both of these guys have fought great competition.  Stefanelli has a PFL fight on his resume and is 5-3.  Do not be fooled by the 8-7 record of Lopez. He came down from lightweight and has been a terror ever since.

John Garbarino puts his undefeated 3-0 record on the line against Mike Ahearn.  Ahearn took this fight on short notice but was in camp and lost his opponent for a fight he had scheduled a week prior.  Garb will have a huge support system there welcoming the New Yorker who trains with a great school at Animals MMA, and house some of the toughest guys in the region. This is going to be a banger.  We also have Anthony Dill matching up against Abraham Charles at featherweight. This is another fun one between two great athletes.

The Art of War Cage Fighting 36 undercard is loaded as well, and I am just frothing for this next one. Bill Algeo protege, Joey Milano (3-0) has struggled finding quality opponents.  Mike Bickings and company said hold my beer, and brought up Ulysses Moore from Jacksonville., Florida.  Moore is 4-1 with all four wins coming by stoppage, including 3 KO’s. The vacant AOW Middleweight amateur Championship will be at stake in this one.  Buckle up for this match-up of young men you will see on the scene for a while.  Ulysses is 25 years old, and Milano is only 21.

I reached out to Joey Milano as fight week arrived to check on him and he tells MyMMANews

“I feel really good. I love the pressure.  It fuels me.  This fight, you’re going to see how much I’ve grown.  I’ve made big jumps just in the last month or two.  I’m a completely different fighter.  When you guys see me June 15th, I’m going to put my hands on this guy.”

Please check out our interview above.  Joey is a very confident young man, but knowing who his head coach is tells me all I need to know.  Milano is in a very good place.  I expect big things for his career.

In the meantime, check out AOW 36 on the Starfund App if you can’t make it to Valley Forge.  Below are a few more of the matchups.  This is definitely a great night of fights coming.
