Former middleweight champ Michael Bisping says he’d beat Brendan Schaub in a fight

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has never been one to mince his words. Throughout his MMA career, ‘The Count’ was well known for his affinity for talking trash which riled many opponents up and allowed him to get in their head.

Now happily retired, the brash Brit’s love of ruffling feathers still seems to be going strong as recently on his podcast, he’s made some interesting comments about another UFC fighter turned podcaster, Brendan Schaub.

But according to Mike on his podcast Believe You Me, it was comedian Theo Von who started it all.

“Theo Von was trying to start s*** between me and Brendan Schaub. He was like asking me ‘c’mon man if you had to fight, who would win, you or Brendan Schaub?’ And I said there’s a reason he’s hanging out with all you f****** p****** these days. (referring to Schaub’s comedian friends).”

Now, while Schaub never enjoyed the level of success in the cage as Michael Bisping, he’s still pretty tough. Schaub is also a big, athletic dude with knockout power who is also great on the ground (one of Mike’s weaknesses).

Bisping’s podcast co-host, comedian Luis J. Gomez, pressed him on these points during the show.

“You were two weight classes below Brendan Schaub, is there something to that? I mean Brendan Schaub was a f****** heavyweight fighter and you think you can take him?”

“Listen I’m not going to sit here and say that,” Bisping replied. “But yeah, I do. Of course I do.”

Bisping continued, “It’s so juvenile and barbaric. It is. I don’t sit here and proclaim things like that. It’s barbaric, it’s juvenile, it’s nonsensical. But yeah, I’d f*** him up in a heartbeat.”

“I agree. I think you would,” said Gomez.

Who do you think would win in a fight – Michael Bisping or Brendan Schaub?
