Mike Basile Jackhammer Promotions MW Title Interview: I’m a Warrior

Mike Basile makes the long-awaited trip back into the cage since the Covid-19 Pandemic swept across the country. The Vamos BJJ middleweight will defend his Jackhammer Promotions crown Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall in Wantagh, New York. Basile will be headlining the event against title contender Carlos Torres.

Basile joined Carroll’s Corner MMA Podcast to speak about his title fight and much more. The champion spoke about how the challenges Torres will present to him inside the cage. The Vamos BJJ fighter trains like a professional already and hopes to take his game to another level when he makes the leap into the professional ranks. He trains six to seven days a week and explains his routine during the interview.

“I’m a warrior,” Basile said while explaining why he takes part in MMA, instead of working a traditional job. He’s thrown all the eggs in his basket as Basile mentioned having plans B, C, D, and E take away from his goal of accomplishing plan A. He hopes to remain active this year and when his coach informs him, Mike will turn pro.

We also talked about who inspires him. Basile mentioned George St. Pierre’s work ethic and introduction into martial arts. He spoke about watching GSP compete and his style which turned into us speaking about how he watches fight-film of himself to ultimately help himself improve.

Mike Basile is a humble but confident fighter. Every champion brings their own swagger into the cage. A champion is a different breed of people. Listen to the whole interview to hear what the middleweight champion has to say.

Basile and Torres will headline the main event of the night card in a two-fight card event special from Jackhammer Promotions. Tickets are on sale. Contact the fighters for tickets or contact Bobby Campbell.
