UFC 250, Sean O'Malley

Sean O’Malley warns Marlon Vera to “settle down, or I’ll pick Henry Cejudo” as next opponent

Newly-crowned UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley warned rival Marlon Vera to “settle down, or I’ll pick Henry Cejudo” as his next opponent.

O’Malley knocked out former champ Aljamain Sterling in the second round of their UFC 292 main event fight. It was a big upset pulled off by O’Malley, and he’s now the new world champion at 135 lbs.

While there is an argument that Sterling should get an automatic rematch, it doesn’t seem likely to happen. Instead, it seems like the UFC will choose another opponent for O’Malley, including Vera, who defeated Pedro Munhoz on the UFC 292 main card. Since Vera is the lone fighter to ever defeat O’Malley inside the Octagon, there is certainly a chance that the UFC may go this route for a rematch.

That being said, while an O’Malley vs. Vera rematch makes sense, “Sugar” says that if Vera doesn’t do what he wants, then he may go and choose someone else to fight him, such as Henry Cejudo.

“”You need to f*cking settle down, or I’ll pick Henry Cejudo. And don’t think that I don’t have the power to f*cking pick who I want to fight right now. So you better f*cking go on Twitter, say, ‘Daddy, will you fight me?’ And I’ll f*cking think about it,” O’Malley told the “TimboSugarShow” podcast (via MMAjunkie.com).

O’Malley even warned Vera that if he doesn’t follow his orders, that he’ll either fight Cejudo, Cory Sandhagen or even enter the boxing ranks and fight superstar Gervonta Davis.

“You need to settle down acting like you call the shots right now,” O’Malley said. “I’ll go box Gervonta (Davis). I’ll fight Henry. I’ll wait for Cory. You need to chill out with your f*cking ugly ass outfits.”

Who do you want to see Sean O’Malley fight next, Marlon Vera, Henry Cejudo or someone else?
