Official Result: Tagir Ulanbekov def. Nate Maness via submission (guillotine choke) at 2:11 of round one

Maness comes out throwing heavy leather, looking to land his overhand right. He follows the second one up with a left hook, before going to the body with another hook. Only the shovel hook of which landed.

Ulanbekov then shoots in on a takedown and puts Maness on his back quite handily.

Maness is working his way up, but Ulanbekov capitalizes beautifully and wraps up a modified guillotine choke along the fence. Maness tries to defend for a time, but is ultimately forced to tap, marking his second straight defeat via first round submission against a Russian opponent.

Tagir Ulanbekov got back to his winning ways tonight at UFC Vegas 64, defeating a solid and skilled opponent in Nate Maness.

This was Ulanbekov’s first finish inside the octagon. Who would you like to see him face next?

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
