VIDEO: Dana White cuts ribbon UFC Performance Institute in Mexico

UFC CEO Dana White cut the ribbon signifying the launch of the newest UFC Performance Institute, this one in Mexico City, Mexico.

UFC officials are in country this week for Saturday’s fight card at Arena CDMX.

The newest UFC PI facility is just a couple of months away from officially opening its doors, with a tentative date of April 12, but White and fellow executives Hunter Campbell, Lawrence Epstein, Duncan French, Forrest Griffin, and several fighters including current champions Alexa Grasso and Alexandre Pantoja, set the course on Thursday.

“This has been a dream and goal of mine since 2001,” White said in an Instagram post. “To finally be here and walk the halls of the @ufcpi in Mexico City is a monumental moment in the history of our sport. The impact this facility will have on Mexico, as well as, both Central and South America will be MASSIVE.

“Este ha sido un sueño y una meta para mí desde el 2001. Estar finalmente aquí y caminar por los pasillos del @ufcpi en la Ciudad de México es un momento monumental en la historia de nuestro deporte. El impacto que esta instalación tendrá en México, así como en Centro y Sudamérica, será MASIVO.”

White continued to say, ““… The first facility we did in Las Vegas, then we did China, and now we’re here. It’s better and better and better and better every time we build one. Now you can honestly say that the PI in Mexico is the best Performance Institute in the UFC, without a doubt. This place is incredible. As we keep building and learning, we keep getting better.”
