New York, NY – Jerome Mickle and Anthony Giacchina battled in front of home crowds as the two New York natives delivered the fans a solid bout. Giacchina hails from Selden, Long Island, NY, and Mickle is a Bronx, NY native. Both Fighters made their Bellator debut at the most Historic Arena in the World, Madison Square Garden.

In the first round the two fighters connected on numerous strikes. Mickle appeared to be connecting with more significant strikes to Giacchina. Though Giacchina used his wrestling to score a few takedowns, especially a big one at the closing seconds of rounds one.

Round two opened with Mickle dropping Giacchina with a big shot. The Long Islander did an excellent job of recovering and fighting off Mickle’s attack. Giacchina climbed back to his feet. Before scoring a takedown, Mickle landed a couple of more shots to the jaw of the Selden native. Giacchina eventually scored a takedown where he held Mickle for the majority of the second round landing numerous head and body strikes during his relentless ground-and-pound.

Giacchina displayed an iron jaw as he ate several heavy strikes from the well-known knockout artist. In round three though, Giacchina went right abck to the well and scored another takedown. While after claiming the back of Mickle, Giacchina earned a win victory in his Bellator MMA debut over Jerome Mickle via Submission. Giacchina used a Rear-Naked choke to force Mickle to tap.

The submission came in round 3, at 3:40. Giacchina improved to 2-1 overall and Mickle fell to 2-2 overall as a professional.
