Joshua Buatsi

Eddie Hearn has offered Joshua Buatsi the next shot at Dmitry Bivol

News broke today that Matchroom Sport chairman, Eddie Hearn, has offered top light-heavyweight contender, Joshua Buatsi, a fight with the WBA champion, Dmitry Bivol.

The announcement comes following Bivol’s title defense over “Canelo” Saul Alvarez in May. Following the bout, it was rumored that Alvarez may get another shot at Bivol. At least that was the narrative up until the trilogy bout against Gennady Golovkin was announced.

Now, it appears that WBA light-heavyweight champion, Bivol, may meet Buatsi in the ring.

Bivol (20-0-0, 11 KOs) has made waves in the boxing world as he holds an unblemished record and has defeated some of the very best in the light-heavyweight division. Among those on his ‘win-list’ include Jean Pascal, Joe Smith Jr., Craig Richards, and of course, unified super middleweight champion, Alvarez.

Also undefeated and on the rise is London native, Buatsi. With a record of 16-0-0 with 13 KOs, Buatsi is ranked within the top five of the WBO, WBC, IBF, and WBA. He ranks as high as the #2 contender in the WBA and IBF while sitting at #3 in the WBC and #5 in the WBO rankings.

His last outing came against Craig Richards, who he defeated via unanimous decision. Prior to that, Buatsi defeated Daniel Blenda Dos Santos and Richard Bolotniks.

If Buatsi accepts Hearn’s offer, how would you see this one going down?
