Efrain Escudero: ”I will be fighting on November 22nd for Taura MMA”
I got to talk to Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero on how life is outside of the UFC and where he looks to go next. I started off the interview asking him if he has a fight lined up.
“I will be fighting on November 22nd for Taura Mixed Martial Arts. They have been signing some of the biggest names in MMA such as Renan Barao, Antonio ‘Big Foot’ Silva and more. I am also the new Fox Deportes commentator as well too!”
What motivates you more coming off of a win or coming off of a loss?
”When I first started fighting it was always about winning and I didn’t care about losing, then all the sudden I became complacent. Then I started thinking that it was ok to lose, that I will come back next time. And with that mindset I would make excuses as to why I lost. I’m back to my old roots and I have a great team around and I’m hungry to fight.”
What is your biggest attribute as a fighter?
”My biggest attribute is that I’m a go getter, I was taught that if I want something in life that I grind to get it.”
Where do you see yourself in the next five years of your career?
”I’ll probably be fat and happy and I don’t have to worry about cutting anymore weight. I’ll probably be involved with coaching and definitely giving back to the community. I’m gonna open up a non profit organization to help troubled kids in their youth. So this is my dream in the next five years I think this will happen.”
You have fought in some of the biggest organizations in the world, if you don’t win a major title in a major organization would you call your career incomplete?
”No man, I don’t. I’m gonna win a title.”
