Mark Coleman on UFC fighter pay: "Compared to what we got back when I was fighting. They're getting paid pretty good"

Mark Coleman airlifted, hospitalized after rescuing parents from house fire

UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman, 59, was airlifted to an Ohio hospital on Monday after rescuing his parents from a house fire near Toledo.

While the cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, both Coleman’s mother and father are not injured. The former UFC fighter made several entrances into the home, even attempted to rescue the family dog (sadly, the dog did not survive), and is being treated for smoke inhalation.

Former UFC fighter Wes Sims, a close friend to Coleman, shared updates on social media.

“I’m a very firm believer in the power of prayer,” Sims wrote. “I sent family and some friends a few pictures of Mark Coleman’s current condition. I know Mark, if he could talk he’d say ‘film this s***, Wes, we are going viral!’

“Mark’s parents’ house burnt down last night. Mark saved both [his parents] and went back for Hammer, his dog. He was life flighted to Toledo and is currently intubated and sedated. I swear to God he’s one of the toughest individuals ever created, been through so much a movie at this point could not give his life’s work justice!”

The house was considered a total loss after firefighters responded to the scene.
