Mitch Raposo wins at CES 61: “I’m ready for the UFC now”

Last week, on October 14th, Mitch Raposo entered the CES MMA cage for his fifth professional MMA fight and left just as he entered…Undefeated, as he won a unanimous decision over Matt Almy.

Improving to 5-0 that evening, the 22-year-old, Raposo is making his mark early and thriving in the bantamweight division. With so much time in his young, prosperous career, Raposo knows “I’m ready for the UFC now, but there’s no rush.”

On fight night, although Raposo is notorious for being his own worst critic, he says, “I definitely see a lot of positive takeaways that I can take away from the fight.” Continuing, “I felt all right you know? I’m definitely hard on myself. (But) I re-watched the fight and I looked better than I thought,” he happily said.

Although, having to deal with “a really bad adrenaline dump” in the first round. Raposo stuck to his game plan, made the proper adjustments, and executed what needed to get the job done. Throughout 3 grueling rounds for his opponent Almy, Raposo showed every aspect of his MMA arsenal to turn in an easy decision for the judges to score.

Discussing Raposo’s immediate future, the 22-year-old says, “I just wanna focus on getting better. Focus on sharpening up the things I need to sharpen up. I could get into the UFC now! I can get into the UFC when I’m 23-24!” Emphasizing further, “I feel like it’s little glimpses that I’m showing. I feel like I really just need to work on putting it together. And really focusing on that and let it fly on fight night. And that’s where I feel like you’ll see another dangerous version of me!”
