The coming month of October will kick off with an exciting MMA title fight for the featherweight division. Patricio “Pitbull” Freire vs Adam Borics at the Bellator MMA 286, held at the Long Beach Arena in California in the USA.

Patricio Freire, also known by his professional name Patricio Pitbull, was born in Brazil in 1987 and trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since the age of 10. He made his pro debut at the tender age of 16 in 2004 and then later joined Bellator in 2010. Since then, he has achieved a 21-5 record along with a promotion. Patricio is a three-time featherweight Bellator champion and was able to secure the title for the second time in 2017 but ended up defending the title at the Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix, but lost the title to A.J McKee in 2021 only to regain it again in April of that year.

He is currently ranked as the no.4 featherweight in the world by Fight Matrix, even ranking as high as no.3 in October of 2020, and the no.9 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Outside of UFC, he is ranked no.1 Featherweight by MMA.

Adam Borics, also known as “The Kid”, is a much younger Hungarian born in 1993 who specializes in mixed martial arts. At the age of 16, he began training Muay Thai, and at the age of 17, he participated in his first MMA training and never looked back.

Adam Borics had his debut at the 5th event of HFC in August of 2014 and was able to win his first belt in November of that same year.

He only came into Bellator MMA in February of 2022 and is considered the new young blood in the scene, although he currently ranks number 1 in the Bellator Featherweight Ranking.

In this upcoming event of mixed martial arts at the Bellator 286, the featherweight class is in the spotlight as the main event. Pound-for-pound Weight class champion Patricio Pitbull will be facing off against the Hungarian Adam Borics.

When looking at the odds In the upcoming matchup, Freire is the clear favourite for this event. Pitbull is a bonafide star in the Bellator arena and is one of the very few athletes that Bellator is willing to hold on to for such an extended period of time.
