Shannon Ross looks for first UFC win at UFC 290

Shannon Ross finds himself on another big stage ahead of his second UFC fight.

Earlier this year, Ross made his debut at UFC 284 in his home country of Australia.

Typically, Australian cards are a massive platform and that’s exactly what UFC 284 was as that was the event in which Islam Makhachev defeated his lightweight title in a close fight against featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.

Now once again, Ross will find himself on another Volkanovski card and this time the stakes are once again high.

Ross will be taking on Jesus Aguilar at UFC 290 and the event will cap off International Fight Week.

Every year, the UFC puts on a week long of events as fans from all across the world travel to Las Vegas to take part in several UFC activities.

While Ross, won’t be partaking in the fan actives since he’s there for a business trip, he plans on at least putting on show with a great performance for all the fans capping off they week of great UFC fun.

In order to put on that great performance, Ross is working hard and now he no longer a full time day job as he’s transited to being a full time fighter.

The extra work and training session in the gym have been paying off and Ross feels like that will be make the difference in his performance.

Also, as if International Fight Week wasn’t already an honor to be a part of for Ross, he also gets to share the card with fellow Australian fighters Robert Whittaker, Dan Hooker, Jack Della Maddalena, Jimmy Crute, and Volkanovski.

UFC 284 was also loaded with Australian fighters, but not everyone got to go home with victories.

Now at UFC 290, the plan is to make sure the long flight home is filled with cheers and to have a massive celebration back in the land down under.

Ahead of UFC 290, Ross spoke with MyMMANews Aguilar, getting to fight at International Fight Week, his travel plans to Las Vegas and once again sharing a big stage with his fellow countrymen.
