UFC Hall of Famer and Tito Ortiz has a big fight coming up. The former light heavyweight champion will take on Alberto El Patron for Combate Americas.
The fight is so big that El Patron invited the Mexican President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador to attend the event. The bout takes place at the Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas near the U.S./Mexico border on December 7 and will mark the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy’s” first fight since he knocked out arch rival Chuck Liddell in November 2018.
Having been iconic in their respective sports, El Patron is putting his WWE belt on the line while Ortiz will be putting up his UFC belt. Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren said, “This is a one-of-a-kind, larger than life fight– one of the greatest MMA superstars of all-time, facing off with one of professional wrestling’s most decorated champions and an accomplished MMA fighter in his own right.”
What many people do not realize about Ortiz is that when he is not training for a fight, he can be found on the open water participating in sport fishing, or at the card table, taking in a game or two of poker. While the two hobbies have nothing to do with one another, Ortiz usually gets involved for the charity aspect of both. He will help raise money for a good cause by fishing with wounded warriors, or taking part in celebrity poker matches.
“I don’t want to say I’m good, I’m ok,” Ortiz said of his poker playing experience.
Gaming sites like smartcasinogame.com, are where Ortiz and others are able to practice before heading to a large tournament.
His current total life earnings in professional poker playing equal more than $16,000. Ortiz has played in events such as the 2017 PokerStars Championship Panama $5,000 Main Event.
