Wanderlei Silva

Wanderlei Silva accepts Rampage Jackson’s request for 5th fight – “Wanderlei will hang you on the ropes again”

Former MMA champions Quentin ‘Rampage’ Jackson and the “Axe Murderer” Wanderlei Silva could be headed towards a fifth fight between the two.

With two wins each in MMA, the common foes may settle the score inside a boxing ring. In a recent episode of The MMA Hour, Jackson said he would like to fight either Silva or Rashad Evans after making his professional debut against ex-WBO heavyweight champ Shannon Briggs in an eight-round boxing match on June 1 in Qatar.

“Get ready Quinton Jackson, your time is coming,” Silva said in response to Jackson’s callout. “The challenge is more than accepted. Wanderlei will hang you on the ropes again. Get ready.”

“I couldn’t wake up to better news,” Silva said in the video posted by Brazilian journalist Ana Hissa. “My archenemy Quinton Jackson will make his boring debut and already said he has the intention to do the fifth fight with Wanderlei Silva. I think that’s more than fair because I’ve knocked him out twice, and he beat me twice as well. So we’ll have the fifth fight, in boxing.”

Jackson and Silva first fought at Pride Final Conflict 2003 and then rematched with the unforgettable knockout that folded ‘Rampage’ at Pride 28 in 2004. Jackson would finally get revenge when both men were signed to the UFC banner at UFC 92 and then again at Bellator 206 in 2018.
