Angela Lee ready for MMA return, 7-months after birth of first child
One of the brightest young prospects in women’s mixed martial arts is ready to make a comeback, just seven-months after giving birth to her first child.
One Championship’s 25-year-old star, “Unstoppable” Angela Lee highlighted in a social media post, that her current weight of 125.4 pounds (56.9kg) on Nov. 18 is lighter than her pre-pregnancy body, when she weighed between 126 to 127 pounds (57.2 to 57.6kg) a year ago.
The Evolve MMA fighter out of Thailand indicates that she is taking her nutrition more seriously.
Lee’s social media post states:

Today was a momentous day for me! I am so happy with the progress I’ve made and how far I’ve come… #7monthspostpartum and I am officially lighter than I was pre-pregnancy when I was prepping for a fight!
The summer of 2020, I remember wanting to take my nutrition seriously and I started working with @savaniimal ❤️ Over the course of 7 weeks, we got my walking weight from 135lbs to 127/126lbs. Savannah thought me the basics of macronutrients and it really helped me when I tracked my food. Week 8/9 came around and on August 16, 2020 I found out I was pregnant!
Fast forward to today ⏩ November 18, 2021 I checked my weight this morning and saw that I was 125.4! I feel like I’ve been able to lose the weight so fast due to a combination of things:
1) Nursing Ava has really fired up my metabolism 🔥 I’m constantly hungry and I find myself eating healthier and cleaner food to support her growth.
2) Eating cleaner. Since I got pregnant I had a strong dislike for red meat and fast food 🙅🏽♀️ I would try to eat it, but my body (or Ava lol) would reject it. Those habits of eating healthy carried throughout my pregnancy and now into motherhood.
3) Exercise and training. It took me 6 months to really feel 100% recovered from pregnancy and giving birth. Giving myself grace and having patience with my body was once of the most frustrating things I had to deal with… But finally at 7 months, here we are 🙌🏼

Lee’s daughter, Ava Marie Pucci, was born on April 16, 2021.
Angela Lee started her professional mixed martial arts career with nine straight victories before dropping back-to-back bouts to Jingnan Xiong and Michelle Nicolini. Lee was able to get back the win over Xiong, in her last fight in 2019 before taking maternity leave in 2020.
Lee made headlines when at just 20 years old then, defeated veteran Mei Yamaguchi to capture One Championship’s 115-pound belt. She became the youngest world champion in the history of MMA.
