Brave 11 open workout provides first taste of MMA to underprivileged kids
Brave Combat Federations started its fight week for Brave 11 with a bang as the fighters involved in the card were treated to a trip to the famous Mineirão Stadium, an iconic building for Brazilian football. While there, they were surprised by 100 underprivileged kids, who were waiting for their heroes to showcase their skills.
Lightweight Gesias Cavalcante, who takes on Erivan Pereira in the main card, chose to send a message to the kids before starting his training.
“Kids, I had many problems growing up. I grew up in a small neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro and ended up fighting around the world. This is the first time I’m fighting in my country. I want you to believe in your dreams. Appreciate your teachers and your friends and dream big”, said Cavalcante, with thunderous applause from the crowd.
Luan “Miau” Santiago also chose to say a few words to the kids and guaranteed he and fellow Lightweight contender Lucas “Mineiro” Martins were going to put on an unforgettable show for everyone.
“Guys, you are my support. You give me the strength to push through everything. Thank you so much. I promise me and my brother Lucas will give you guys a fight of the year contender on Friday night”, claims “Miau”, who takes on Martins in the main event for the interim Lightweight title.
