Cat Zingano flying armbar at Grapplers Quest at UFC Fan Expo
Cat Zingano has not fought in the octagon in more than a year due to injury however the number one contender to the UFC women’s bantamweight championship was in Las Vegas this past weekend participating in Grapplers Quest at the UFC Fan Expo.
Zingano defeated Liz Exell with a flying armbar just seconds into the match, winning three bouts on the day but was forced to withdraw to attend scheduled appearances.
“I respect Cat Zigano. She’s not on the internet just doing interviews talking about ‘all the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belts she can beat under any rules’, she is actually entering the most challenging professional grappling tournament ever created. She didn’t want a high priced, fly-by-night superfight, Cat just wanted as many matches as she could challenge herself with against the World’s Best Submission Fighters at Grapplers Quest. That’s why I believe she will also be the UFC Champion before the end of 2014, just watch and see,” commented Grapplers Quest Founder, Brian Cimins before the tournament took place.
After she won Cimins had this to say, “SHE’S BACK!!! CAT ZINGANO is the #1 Contender in the MMA World and entered our 16-Woman Submission Only Professional Tournament on a day’s notice. She showed why she is one of the World’s Best Submission Fighters at Grapplers Quest at UFC Fan Expo —-> Her Next Quest is the UFC title, it’s her destiny to be CHAMPION!”
