Monica Franco ready to make up for lost time, calls for Invicta FC bout against Hailey Cowan

Monica Franco Happy to Welcome Hailey Cowan to Invicta FC

Interview with Monica Franco

“Fearless” Monica Franco (2-0) and Hailey Cowan (5-2) are scheduled to face one another at Invicta FC 45. The two ladies both were looking for fights and communicated amongst themselves to respectfully agree to face one another and now it is official. Invicta FC confirmed they would be on the fight card last week and Franco could not be happier to welcome Cowan to the promotion.

Franco recently told MyMMANews that she was excited for the match finally being confirmed.

“I just feel like this is a step up for me and it’s going to help the both of us,”said Franco. “I told you before it’s about fighting the best of the best. She has a lot of potential to go far so, I mean just putting two up and comers with high potential, Ii think it’s gonna make for a great fight. So,I’m excited. I’m looking forward to it and yeah, let’s just go.”

This is Cowan’s first fight under the Invicta FC banner and while Franco has some seniority there, she was once making her own Invicta FC debut back at Invicta FC 39 where she won against Kristina Pettigrew.

So, when asked if she thinks Cowan would have any promotional jitters coming from LFA, Franco said, “Everybody’s different, every individual difference is kind of a case-by-case. For me, for me because I was out for so long, and I still feel this way now when I’m going back. It’s not really necessarily jitters anymore. I just feel grateful, I just want to go, I want to get to work. It’s another day at the office. What we do at the gym every day, we’re just doing it, you know in a different place. So for me it’s just feeling ready and feeling grateful.”

Chances are Cowan is grateful too. Her last bout at LFA had her lose via submission so making a move to a new promotion and fighting again is likely something both women are happy to be doing.

Invicta FC 45: Zappitella vs. Delboni 2 Slated for Jan. 12 in Kansas City with no fans due to COVID protocols and open scoring will be used according to Invicta FC’s press release.
