Gabe Cabello: “I predict a submission finish”
The full video interview with Gabe Cabello is above
This Saturday, April 23, the city of Rahway, New Jersey is in for a historic treat. Revolt Fighting League will blast onto the scene with their inaugural show live from the Rahway Recreation Center.
World Series of Fighting veteran, Ozzy Dugulubgov serves as the promoter of the young and prosperous promotion. He recently spoke with our own, James Lynch about their promotional debut with a grin widely spread from ear to ear in excitement.
This event serves a historic purpose, due to the newly modified changes in the amateur rule set. All sanctioned MMA bouts before the rule change mandated all amateur fighters to wear shin and instep protection/padding. Following Dugulubgov’s social media posting about the requirement being relinquished, MyMMANews confirmed with the New Jersey state athletic commission.
In the main event of RFL 1, Gabe “The Babe” Cabello will be taking on Steve Calero to be some of the first few to get a feel for the newly implicated rule set.
Cabello is looking to bounce back in the win column in a big way against his more experienced opponent, Calero. “It doesn’t matter,” Cabello says about the differential inexperience. Contending that professional athletes deal with the same issues. “May as well get used to it,” Cabello says with a laugh.
“I predict a submission,” Cabello says about his expectations on fight night.
Tune in to the full interview above as Gabriel “The Babe” Cabello discusses his main event slot at Revolt Fighting League’s inaugural show. He talks about stepping up to fight someone more experienced without hesitation. He discusses how much he anticipates the new shin-gear rule set, and how he’ll celebrate with a fine cigar, pending he secures the win.
