Kyokushin, Shihan Roman Herman

Kyokushin seminar with Shihan Roman Herman starts full day of combat for USKA Fight Sports

Kyokushin is a style of stand-up fighting founded in 1964 by Masutatsu Oyama. The art was considered the first and most influential style of full contact karate. “Kyokushin” is Japanese for “the ultimate truth.” It is rooted in a philosophy of self-improvement, discipline and hard training. Its full contact style has international appeal.

My curiosity arose when I saw that the USKA Fight Sports was a having a huge day of martial arts/combative arts on December 7th in Allentown, PA.  USKA President Gary Grant Jr will start out the day hosting a Kyokushin Karate seminar.  Shihan Roman Herman will be the guest instructor that features fighting techniques and strategy.

Justin Hagen is a martial arts instructor at BucksMont Tae Kwon Do in Hatfield, PA and will be on hand aiding and learning from his mentor.  Hagen remains very active in the full contact sparring that this unique bare knuckle sport brings.

Please check out our interview with Justin Hagen above. He talks about the seminar, his mentor, and the sport’s appeal and benefits.

You can click on the link below to register if you’re interested.  After the seminar, USKA Boxing will host a full card followed in the evening by USKA Fight “Takanakuy” which features the return of “Bazooka” Joe Stripling as he welcomes Tyler East into his domain.

From the lowest level, to the highest, he only cares about the two warriors who do battle once the cage doors close. Everything else is secondary. Without their blood, sweat, and tears, he would not be here enjoying every minute.
