Laura Turzenski chats AOW 27 KO and the future

Interview with Laura Turzenski above

Art of War Cage Fighting held their final event of 2022 this past weekend and the night was filled with some exciting finishes.  Laura Turzenski stepped into the cage for the fourth time and left with her third victory and third finish.  This time it was via KO to strikes with twelve seconds left in the first round.   Turzenski has hopes of turning pro in 2023 and based on her performance, there is no reason to believe that she will not get there.

Turzenski continues to get better every fight, and she says it has helped her unequivocally to have Lenny “the Gorilla” Rufati by her side both training and as her life partner.  Together they have moved their home gym to Pura Vida BJJ and MMA.  The coaches have gone out of their way to make them feel welcome and have worked intensely to help the power couple improve their craft.

I reached out to Laura as I was cage-side on commentary and had the pleasure of calling this event with Christian Bobe and Earl “Trouble” Small.  She talked about the fight, her bloody noses, and the future.  Turzenski tells MyMMANews

“I would like to go pro by the end of 2023.  That is our plan.  But I’d also like to challenge myself with some opponents who present a different skill set.  I’m 5’9″ and I’d like to get another longer opponent, and maybe a grappler.  To this point trying to get fights has been pretty difficult.  I’m getting my nose cauterized (one side had already been done) and will keep working and continue to get better.”

Art of War Cage Fighting returns for All Star Weekend III the first weekend of February and I’m sure matchmaker Jillian Peterson would love to find a game opponent for Laura.  Turzenski should have options as she is an exciting fighter and is not afraid to travel as she did from her Milwaukee home to compete in Pennsylvania for AOW.
