Max Holloway devastates Calvin Kattar in title eliminator, UFC Fight Island 7

Max Holloway gets his hand raised after beating Calvin Kattar at UFC Fight Island 7.

Max Holloway Willing to Let Fans Decide His Next Opponent

Max Holloway picked up a victory just before Conor McGregor lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. Having lost his title to Alexander Volkanovski, and losing the subsequent rematch (by decision and split decision) the win was great for Holloway and his fans. Having come so close to with the current featherweight champ and McGregor hinting at the two of them seeing each other again begs the question, what’s next for Holloway?

Well, for Holloway, it is entirely up to the fans.

Holloway told TMZ Sports a few weeks ago when asked if UFC President Dana White would give him his choice of opponents, Holloway said, “I’ll go to Twitter, I’ll make a poll, put a bunch of names and let the fans decide.  Because that’s who we fight for, we fight for you guys. You guys let me know who you guys want me to fight.”

As for the potential rematch with McGregor, Holloway said that when the loss happened the list of potential opponents for McGregor and himself changed.

“That was on a very short list for the UFC. If everything went well in his last fight and it didn’t, said Holloway and added, “ I don’t want to kick a man when he’s down. We’re in a game where everything is about timing and we’re about perfect timing.  So, we’ll see how it goes.”

However, one name Holloway still wants and does not seem to let up on is, “The Daddest man on the planet, “ Daniel Cormier. “DC come out of retirement! Stop blaming that your back is thrown out or whatever. Come see me.”

It’s nice to see Max Holloway confident and in good spirits but he probably doesn’t want that Olympic smoke from Cormier. Plus, there might be a small weight advantage for Cormier.
