NCAA Announces Hosts For Championships for 2023-2026 Seasons

The NCAA has announced sites for the next D1 Men’s Wrestling Championships for the 2023-2026 seasons. They are as follows:

2023: Tulsa, Oklahoma
2024: Kansas City, Missouri
2025: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
2026: Cleveland, Ohio

This is the third time in the NCAA’s history that they’ve held a selection process for the preliminary and final sites for Division 1-3. According to the NCAA, there were 3,000 submissions from schools, conferences, commissions and more across all sports. The NCAA spends time making the decisions for the future of the sport and had to wade through a multitude of other cities and different sports.

“The response of our membership, host cities and local organizing committees to this process was tremendous,” said NCAA senior vice president of championships, Joni Comstock. “Thanks to their commitment, we are excited that our student-athletes will play in some of the top locations and venues in the United States.”

For the second time, the NCAA Championships will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philly held the 2011 Championships and set the record for total attendance, and was the first site to pass 100,000.

The 2021 NCAA Wrestling Championships are set to take place at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri and 2022 will take place at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

The NCAA Selections

As mentioned, 2023-2026 has been selected for the NCAA Wrestling Championships. The colleges selected are Oklahoma State University, University of Missouri, University of Pennsylvania, and the Mid-American Conference.

In addition to DI championships, the DII and DIII locations were announced. DII include Upper Iowa University, Newman University, the University of Indianapolis, and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. DIII sites include Ferrum College, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Johnson & Wales University (Providence) and the American Rivers Conference.
