Ring Masters Championships: Road to the Garden Finalist Jess Capurso Interview

Jess Capurso, 28, has been training boxing for only little more than a year and she now finds herself in the finals of Ring Masters Championships: Road to the Garden (formally known as Golden Gloves) at The Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden on April 19, 2019. Capurso trains at Vargas Boxing in Patchogue, New York.

Capurso (5-3), a single mother tells Kyle Carroll of Carroll’s Corner MMA Podcast how her son is her main source of inspiration and how Heather Hardy’s story is one she relates to as motivation. This young amateur boxer explains in the interview how Vargas Boxing’s family environment attracted her to the gym.

After every question asked, Capurso’s face would light-up expressing her passion for boxing. She spoke like a professional and answered the questions with the composure of a veteran.

Capurso discussed numerous topics with Carroll, as they spoke about her goals within the sport, how she was introduced to boxing, cross-training with other women, juggling work full-time, raising her son and training full-time, she explains how time management is an important part.
