WCC 155 pound world champion, Sharif “Bamm Bamm” Jones ducks ZERO questions in this exclusive interview with the MyMMANews reporter ‘Beautiful’ Bob Meloni.
Shairf Jones talks about his recent call out of the legendary Will Martinez who headlined WCC 18 in Philadelphia.
“Being cageside…. I was able to see an opening in his game. I feel as though its gonna be a finish in the second round between me and Martinez honestly.”
“I think he’s scared because he’s trying to figure out, he trained me for one of my pro fights and I won with him, I trained at his gym, he’s thinking ‘Where does this kid think that he could beat me?’ So in his brain he’s thinking he knows something I don’t. Yes…. I do. And you’ll see it in the cage once I’m punching you and I’m taking you down and I’m knocking your head left and right.”
Tough Times
Jones continues on in the discussion talking about the recent loss of a family member and how it affected him mentally. Bamm Bamm lost his cousin just weeks ago, someone who has been in his corner since the beginning.
“I get to see his spirit every time I come to the gym now.”
Who’s Next?
“I’m a fighter and I’m gonna come after every fighter who has something I want. Jordan Morales has that 145 title.”
WCC Praise
“No knock on these other guys (MMA promotions) but this is home. This is where the champions are raised. I believe nobody puts on a better show than Doug (Yasinsky) and Mike (Bickings). Nobody promotes their fighters better than these guys.”
