WWE NXT Releases

Another Black Friday for WWE NXT, Ten Superstars Exit the Company

It must be budget cutting season in Stamford, CT! As first reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, World Wrestling Entertainment has released ten superstars from NXT 2.0. Included in the departures are some surprising names, Dakota Kai, Malcolm Bivens, Harland, and Dexter Lumis.

Here’s the complete list of Superstars who have been given their “future endeavors:”

WWE NXT releases:

  • Dexter Lumis
  • Malcom Bivens
  • Dakota Kai
  • Harland
  • Persia Pirotta
  • Raelyn Divine
  • Draco Anthony
  • Vish Kanya
  • Mila Malani
  • Blair Baldwin

While fans should no longer be surprised by releases from WWE, some of these names were a bit of a shock.  A few quick thoughts:

Dexter Lumis has been a pivotal part of NXT programming since returning from an injury in September 2020.  He’s had programs with Cameron Grimes, Austin Theory, Damien Priest, and Johnny Gargano,  Lumis has recently been part of the interesting angle with Indi Hartwell which included another classic pro wrestling wedding.

Dakota Kai has been a mainstay in NXT since 2015 and was one half of the two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions with Raquel Gonzalez. In fact, Kai and Gonzalez just lost the titles on NXT 2.0 to Toxic Attraction.  This cut comes as a surprise considering WWE could use some fresh faces in the women’s division on Raw and SmackDown.

Parker Boudreaux/Harland came into the WWE with a ton of fanfare including high praise from the mastermind Paul Heyman. He was being billed as “The Next Brock Lesnar” and he had the look of a future WWE superstar.  Then in typical WWE fashion, they cut his hair, changed his look, and gave him a dumb gimmick.  Now “The Next Brock Lesnar” is gone like a fart in the wind.  What a waste.  It will be interesting to see where Boudreaux shows up.

This story is developing…
