Confirmed: Conor McGregor will not be held up by court ahead of UFC 303

There’s so much drama surrounding the return of Conor McGregor at UFC 303. After canceling the press conference in Dublin, Ireland on July 3rd. Rumors swelled that the fight was canceled and there were a multitude of reasons why.

MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani has given two updates on the situation calling them positive.

My MMA News has confirmed without a doubt that legal troubles stemming from one of his previous lawsuits today. There were rumblings that McGregor would not be able to fight due to a calling to Ireland’s High Court on the week of June 29th.

No court holdup for Conor McGregor

With the nature of the Conor McGregor news cycle, there was a need for confirmation from the High Courts of Ireland if McGregor would be, in fact, held up in court from his bout with Michael Chandler.

My MMA News confirmed today that nothing has changed with the adjusted court date that has been moved to November 5th of this year. It’s original date was on fight week and was adjusted last week to allow McGregor to compete at UFC 303.

Media relations for the Ireland High Court confirmed to My MMA News that the November date has not changed, despite rumors swirling at the moment. The office also stated that the details of this case has not yet been released to the public, as is the norm in the Ireland legal system, and will not be until the case is heard by the High Court.

Also stated was that this case could be settled before it goes to trial. The details of the lawsuit may never see the light of day.

McGregor commented on X that the situation was “due to a series of obstacles outside of our control.” This doesn’t eliminate injury and McGregor posted a video of him getting UV treatment on his shoulder.

This is simply hearsay and there’s been no answer on the status of McGregor’s shoulder being injured. The fight may be in jeopardy until he’s seen by a specialist and the UFC is scrambling to make a backup plan for the worst case scenario.

On a normal day, this is a non-story. But with the nature of the Conor McGregor news cycle, confirmation of Ariel Helwani’s reports seem warranted and seemingly backs up his claims of no legal troubles.
