Diego Sanchez believes he could be killed for speaking out against the UFC
The bizarre and wild ending to Diego Sanchez’s tenure with the UFC continues to get a bit more erratic as more information comes out, and that was on display Tuesday night. Making an appearance on Sirius XM’s ‘MMA Today’ with RJ Clifford and Anthony Smith, Diego Sanchez spoke at length, over 40 minutes of uninterrupted conversation, about everything that led him to work with Joshua Fabia and his recent release from the UFC.
One of the biggest moments that stood out in the interview is when Sanchez revealed that he believed something bad could happen to him and his life after he began to speak out about the UFC. In a very wild twist, Diego Sanchez said he believes he could be killed for speaking out against his former promotion.
“I’m going o tell you guyss frankly right now, I’m fearful for my motherf*cking life. I’m fearful that this company, this billion-dollar company monopoly, worldwide, is going to come after me. Something might happen to me in two years. Maybe in a couple years. Maybe I wreck my truck. Maybe I, ‘Oh, Diego overdosed, some suicide sh*t.’ I don’t know. But I would not put anything past the level of evil that is within this corporation.”
The fallout between Diego Sanchez and the UFC took the public spotlight after he was released following videos of his coach Joshua Fabia calling out members of the UFC broadcast during fighter meetings were released. The videos were not the reason for Sanchez’s release, however. There was reportedly a conversation between the UFC and Sanchez, Fabia, and Sanchez’s attorney where the UFC asked if they all could confirm that Sanchez was not suffering from any short-term or long-term health issues, to which they would not confirm.
It doesn’t appear that the rift between Diego Sanchez, Joshua Fabia, and the UFC will be going away any time soon, but the thoughts about the future of his life made by Sanchez are incredibly concerning.
