Jim Miller issues statement following KO win at UFC Vegas 48, wants to fight again in July

Longtime UFC veteran lightweight Jim Miller issued a statement following his KO win at UFC Vegas 48, saying he wants to fight again in July.

Miller entered Saturday’s fight against UFC rookie Nikolas Motta as a +150 betting underdog. Despite brutally knocking out prospect Erick Gonzalez in his last fight, the majority of bettors did not believe that Miller was going to get by another top prospect in the form of Motta. However, it turned out to be quite the opposite for Miller, and he lit up Motta with leg kicks all night long before knocking him out in the second.

For Miller, this was an incredible win for him, as the victory gave him 23 career wins in the UFC, which ties Donald Cerrone for the most wins ever inside the Octagon. Despite being 38 years old, Miller continues to look phenomenal in his fights and he continues to prove that he is an all-time great. Taking to his social media following the win, Miller thanked everyone for their support and suggested he fight next in July.

“Thank you to everyone for all the support, thank you to the @ufc, @danawhite, and thank you to @nikolasmotta for sharing the Octagon with me. Call me for July. #ufc #records #jimfuckingmiller,” Miller wrote on his Instagram.

Miller is coming off of back-to-back wins over Motta and Gonzalez, both of who were making their UFC debuts, so it’s hard to say what the matchmakers have planned for him next. Miller is one of those fighters who will fight anybody that the matchmakers ask him to, so it’s possible he could be matched up against another rookie again. However, it’s also possible the promotion matches him up against a veteran, too.

Who do you want to see Jim Miller fight next after knocking out Nikolas Motta at UFC Vegas 48?
