Lyoto Machida is Eyeing The Winner of Mousasi vs. MacDonald
Lyoto Machida is happy to be one of the newest high profile signee at Bellator MMA. He was brought out briefly before the press conference to announce Bellators partnership with DAZN an on-demand streaming service that looks to remedy Bellator’s tape delay issue in the US when they are holding events overseas.
While all the news about being able to see more fights was at the forefront, the news of Machida in his new home begs the question of who he will be fighting first and when? While nothing official has been set up yet, Bellator president Scott Coker said “The Dragon” expressed interest in fighting at middleweight and light heavyweight. However, when speaking to Machida himself, he says he has his eyes on the winner of Gegard Mousasi and Rory Macdonald.
“I’ll be interested in the result. But I can do 205, I’ll be waiting.”-Lyoto Machida
Machida knows he is new to Bellator and seems to want to keep his options open. Even though the champ vs. champ winner seems to have gotten his attention he said, “I think I have a lot of fights in Bellator.” One thing Bellator has done since Scott Coker took over is keeping to their word in pursuing high profile free agents and Machida seems to like his new options of opponents in Bellator.
Anyone thinking he was on his way out, better think again.
