Pat Miletich arrested for DUI, still attends fight press conference later in day
UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich, 55, was arrested early Thursday morning on his third drunken driving charge.
The arrest in Bettendorf, Iowa, took place at 6:16 a.m. local time following calls about a wrong-way driver.
“The Croation Sensation” reportedly had to be woken up by officers after falling asleep in an idling vehicle, and officers observed “fresh damage to vegetation growing on a retaining wall” in a Shell parking lot consistent with damage on the front of Miletich’s vehicle.
He was released shortly after at 7:59 a.m. local time on $5,000 bond.
Police stated that Miletich refused all field sobriety tests, a blood test, and a Breathalyzer, but had watery, bloodshot eyes, unsteady balance, slurred speech, smelled of alcohol, and admitted to drinking wine.
Miletich sports a professional MMA record of 29-7-2 is scheduled to return to MMA competition for the first time since 2008 when he meets Mike Jackson in a grudge match at Cage Aggression 36 on Oct. 14.
Despite the arrest, Miletich showed up for a press conference to promote the fight later in the day. Watch below.
