Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell Set for December 5th on DAZN
DAZN announced a huge fight today between Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell set to take place on December 5th. The Interim WBC lightweight championship will be on the line on December 5th. The fight will be live on DAZN and will be presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Matchroom Boxing.
Ryan Garcia comes in undefeated at 20-0 with 17 coming by way of knockout. Garcia is one of boxing’s hottest talents and Campbell will be his biggest test yet. Garcia is only 22 but has put together an impressive resume and has the opportunity to up his game on the 5th of December. “I’ve been eagerly waiting to get back in the ring and have been working harder than ever to get there,” Garcia told DAZN.
“It’s been a tough year for everyone, but I’m excited to bring the fans an escape for the night or, based on my track record, a few minutes at most.” Ryan Garcia continues, “Luke’s record speaks for itself, but I’m ready to prove the doubters wrong. This is my era now and December 5th is just the start of it.”
Luke Campbell comes in with an Olympic gold medal around his neck from 2012. Campbell boasts a 20-3 record with 16 knockouts. He’s ready to get back in the ring himself. “2020 has been an extremely tough year for everyone, so I’m really pleased we can finally get this fight officially on and give the fans something to look for.”
With the opportunity in front of him, Campbell can’t wait to get his hands on Ryan Garcia. “There’s been a lot of talk and he’s clearly a very highly regarded fighter, but I’m going to prove that this is far too much, far too soon and that I’m on a completely different level.”
