Vitor Belfort calls for boxing fight against Jake Paul: “That kid represents evil”

Following his recent first-round victory over Evander Holyfield, former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort wants one of the biggest names in the boxing world. Belfort defeated the 58-year old Holyfield, who stepped in on one week’s notice, last weekend under the Triller fight promotion and then called for a fight against social media star, undefeated pro boxer, Jake Paul.

Moments after his first-round stoppage over Holyfield, Belfort along with executives from Triller called out Jake Paul, with the executives saying they would guarantee a full-pro fight for $30 million, winner takes all on Thanksgiving Day.

Many fighters, both MMA and boxing have called for a fight against Jake Paul due to the money there is to be made, the attention his fights bring, and the possibility of being the one to silence him, and Vitor Belfort is now the latest one to call him out.

Earlier this week, Belfort was a guest on Sirius XM’s ‘MMA Today’ and gave his reasoning for why he wants to fight Jake Paul, saying that the social media star “represents evil”.

“The reason I choose Jake Paul because he need a lesson. The kid has no respect. That kid represents evil. Why? Because everything is about jewlery, money, women, he doesn’t respect women. He doesn’t have a proper famiy the way I think a man should have. A man has to has respect. He’s not fighting anybody MMA as a boxer, if he fights MMA with all these MMA fighter, he would get beat up. The reason he gets the leverage over these guys is because he’s choosing these guys.”

Coming off his win over the legendary boxing heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, Vitor Belfort went on to say that he is the one putting everything on the line to fight Jake Paul.

“I just beat the legend, the heavyweight legend [Holyfield] in a very fashionable way, I’m putting everything on the line to fight him, and I promise you he’ll do everything to run away. Masvidal is not going to fight him, it’s all promotion, he just wants promotion. Anderson Silva, he’s looking for ways out. I promise you he [Jake Paul] is not going to fight me and if he does, he’s going to have even more respect. But right now, everybody want to see him get beat up, even his fans.”

In his last boxing fight, Jake Paul defeated former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley by unanimous decision. This week Paul told ESPN that he has moved on from a rematch with Woodley and Tommy Fury is likely his next opponent, taking out another UFC legend like Belfort could entice Paul into a fight.
