Bellator 260: Aaron Pico
Aaron Pico vs. Pedro Carvalho added to Bellator Dublin
A key featherweight fight has been added to Bellator Dublin as Aaron Pico will look to extend his win streak to two in the co-main event.
Bellator announced via a press release that Pico is set to return on Sept. 23 at 3Arena for Bellator Dublin and will take on Pedro Carvalho. Pico is currently ranked third at featherweight while Carvalho is ranked fourth and the main event of the card sees Johnny Eblen taking on Fabian Edwards.
Aaron Pico (11-4) is coming off a decision win over James Gonzalez last time out in his return to fighting after the shoulder injury he sustained during his TKO loss to Jeremy Kennedy. The loss to Kennedy snapped Pico’s six-fight win streak where he had beaten Adli Edwards, Justin Gonzales, Aiden Lee, John De Jesus, Solo Hatley Jr., and Daniel Carey. The win over Carey snapped Pico’s two-fight losing skid where he was knocked out by Henry Corrales and Adam Borics.
Pico was a highly touted prospect but struggled early in his career as he lost his debut fight in 24 seconds to Zach Freeman. After winning four straight fights he then lost the back-to-back fights to Corrales and Borics.
Pedro Carvalho (13-7) suffered a decision loss to Jeremy Kennedy last time out back in February. Carvalho is 6-4 in Bellator but has alternated wins and losses for his last five fights going 2-3 over that stretch and is 2-4 in his last six. In his career, Carvalho holds notable wins over Derek Campos, Sam Sicilia, Mads Burnell, and Daniel Weichel among others while also having fought for the featherweight title but lost by first-round KO to Patricio Pitbull.
