Liam Neeson, Conor McGregor

Actor Liam Neeson – “That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name”

Men’s Health sat down with actor Liam Neeson to talk about his new film, Marlowe.

During the interview, the 70-year-old star from Northern Ireland unleased on the UFC and fellow countryman, Conor McGregor.

“UFC I can’t stand. That to me is like a bar fight. I know the practitioners are like, ‘no, you’re wrong—the months of training we do …’ Why don’t you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy over the head? That’s the next stage of the UFC. I hate it. … That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name. I know he’s fit, and I admire him for that. But I can’t take it.”

Neeson has received several accolades, including nominations for an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and two Tony Awards. In 2020, he was placed 7th on The Irish Times list of Ireland’s 50 Greatest Film Actors.

Yesterday UFC President Dana White announced that McGregor would be part of the next season of the Ultimate Fighter.

Those two coaches are former UFC featherweight & lightweight champion McGregor (22-6) and former three-time Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler (23-8).

“We just confirmed the coaches for season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter,” White said. “Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will go head-to-head as the coaches of The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs Team Chandler. This season premieres Tuesday, May 30th and runs through Tuesday, August 15th on ESPN the Network, and ESPN+.

“At the end of the season, McGregor and Chandler will fight live on ESPN+ Pay-Per-View. I do not have a date or location for that, but we’ll announce it soon.”

This season is to debut on May 30, 2023, and will be finalized by August 15, 2023.
