Buchecha vs. Reug Reug off ONE Championship: Reloaded, Rescheduled

Buchecha vs. Reug Reug off ONE Championship: Reloaded, Rescheduled

The bout between Buchecha and Reug Reug has been rescheduled for another card, ONE Championship announced this morning. The two were scheduled to fight on this weekend’s ONE Championship: Reloaded card this weekend on April 22nd.

Reug Reug and Buchecha were originally scheduled to fight on April 7, 2021 before Buchecha pulled out of the bout. A year later and several fights later, the two were rebooked to fight on ONE Championship: Reloaded before the latest rescheduling a year later.

ONE Championship did not say which card Buchecha vs. Reug Reug would be rebooked to and will provide that at a later date. The fight is an old school stylistic matchup in a modern mma age. Similar to UFC 1 and it’s matchmaking, Buchecha is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion and Reug Reug is a champion from Senegalese wrestling. The matchup pits two grappling styles against each other which is what has fans clamoring for the fight to actually happen.

ONE Championship: Reloaded still stacked

Regardless of the rebooking of Reug Reug and Buchecha, ONE Championship: Reloaded is still a great card.

Atop the card, Regian Eersel is defending his welterweight title against Arian Sadikovic in a kickboxing bout. The co-main event is for the women’s vacant flyweight Muay Thai title featuring Smilla Sundell and Jackie Buntan.

In addition to that, Jarred Brooks and Bokang Masunyane are fighting in a title eliminator for a shot against champion Joshua Paciao.

Also on the card, UK Muay Thai sensation, Liam Harrison, takes on Thailand’s Thanousin on the main card as well.

While ONE Championship: Reloaded lost the fantastic style versus style matchup in Buchecha vs. Reug Reug, the card is still fantastically loaded with great fights that you don’t want to miss.
