Former fighter and police officer, Cassie Crisano, already sentenced to 81 years, faces more jail time
Cassie Crisano, 41, a former police officer and professional mixed martial artist is facing more jail time on top of a sentence she is already serving, that will likely result in her spending the rest of her life behind bars.
Crisano, a former officer for the Prince George’s County Police Department in Maryland was convicted in 2019 of three counts of attempted capital murder and three counts of soliciting capital murder.
Authorities accused Crisano of trying to arrange for someone to kill witnesses against her: a Stafford police detective, a former friend and the father of her youngest child. Authorities had an officer pose as a hit man and made her think one of the men had been killed.
Crisano was sentenced to 81 years in prison but now faces even more time when she heads back to court this week.
She is due in Stafford County Circuit Court on Wednesday to face multiple charges, including obtaining money by false pretenses and identity theft. The charges include alleged offenses that took place prior to the ones she was already convicted of.
Crisano will either accept a plea agreement that will add another four years to her active sentence or have a bench trial on the remaining charges.
Known as “The Evil Angel” in the MMA world, Cassie Crisano racked up three amateur wins before turning pro in 2013 where she earned a 2-3 record. In her last fight, Crisano was defeated by way of armbar submission in a fight against Jessy Miele.
Update: Crissano’s 81-year prison sentence got four years longer as the result of a plea agreement in Stafford Circuit Court.
Crisano, 41, pleaded guilty to nine felony charges, including false pretenses, receiving a stolen credit card number and multiple counts of identity theft. She was sentenced to a total of 11 years with seven years suspended.
