Jiri Prochazka stops Aleksandar Rakic in violent UFC 300 affair
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka met number five-ranked contender Aleksandar Rakic in the main preliminary bout on Saturday’s historic UFC 300 fight card.
The 31-year-old Prochazka is in trouble early on as his left calf is taking a beating from the heavy kicks from Rakic. Prochazka is limping and it appears that that leg is compromised. The round continues and a cut is opened up near the right eye of Jiri Prochazka. Upon seeing his blood, the former champion ignites a fire and comes to life stumbling his opponent and then nearly missing with a flying knee. The round comes to a close and we move to the second frame.
Through an intense few minutes of back-and-forth violence, both Prochazka and Rakic hit one another with everything they have in their arsenal until Rakic drops and Prochazka continues to unleash. Referee Herb Dean eventually calls a halt to the action and Jiri Prochazka will pick up his first win since June 2022.
