Brandon Royval talks UFC 274 win and not getting an interim title shot
Brandon Royval and Matt Schnell put on an entertaining fight at UFC 274 for the fans in the few minutes that the fight lasted.
As soon as the referee said good, Schnell came out red hot and started pressuring Royval while throwing heavy shots.
Schnell’s approach was successful at first as he landed a big punch that sent Royval to the canvas, but after that the fight swung the other way.
Royval wasn’t really hurt by the shot and was able to scramble and land a few shots of his own. Then moments later Schnell attempted to get back to the feet, but in that process Royval was able to grab a hold of Schnell’s neck and submitted him.
As a result of a highly entertaining fight, UFC president Dana White rewarded the two with a Fight of the Bonus in which each fighter received a 50 thousand dollar bonus.
Following the win, Royval spoke with MyMMANews about the win, not getting an interim title shot despite calling for one and staying ready for a big fight at some point during the year.
