Kamaru Usman says he’s taking BMF belt from Jorge Masvidal at UFC 251

When welterweight champion Kamaru Usman meets challenger Jorge Masvidal at UFC 251, he’ll be looking to not only defend his title but take the title that Masvidal won last November as well. Back at UFC 244, Masvidal defeated Nate Diaz to win the ‘BMF’ title, a title that Diaz said he was coming into the fight defending and one that the UFC had custom made for the fight.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Usman not only laid out his plans for the fight against Masvidal, where he has predicted an impressive showing, but also said that he’ll take home the ‘BMF’ belt after the win as well. As far as the fight will go in his mind, Usman has no doubts that he will be able to control the fight from start to finish as he has done in all of his fights.

“The fight will go a specific way and that’s the way I want it to go,” Usman said. “How I’m dominant from start to finish in each and every one of my fights. Even in that last Covington fight, yes I took some licks, but I was still dominant in every way, I controlled the fight until I put him out. That’s how I fight, that’s how I train to fight, that’s how my mind is trained, guys don’t understand that until they step in there with me.”

With the welterweight title being on the line against the ‘BMF’ champion, Usman says he’s looking to bring back Masvidal’s title as well, and he already knows where he will put it in his home.

“That’s my s**t, absolutely. They’re really considering this [BMF] a real title kind of like an interim thing. They’re really considering this a title, so you know what, yes after I go out there and beat his ass and ragdoll him, that s**t is coming home with me so I can throw it in my closet.”

With his clear intentions in mind, Kamaru Usman has one message for Masvidal ahead of their fight.

“For me, as of this moment it’s all business. I see no face. So he’s going to get the same disciplinary action anyone else was going to get. So, July 11, I see no face, it’s all business.”

It appears that Kamaru Usman has his sights set on exactly what it is he wants to do and what he plans to do in the main event of UFC 251.
