Nick Cannon to Host Triller Fight Club’s Triad Combat

Nick Cannon will be hosting Triller Fight Club’s inaugural Triad Combat event this Saturday.

Triad Combat, Triller’s next combat sports pay-per-view venture will air this Saturday on FITE TV and is looking to even the playfield between boxers and mixed martial artists competing under a rule set that compliments both sports. This being a Triller event, Metallica will be performing a special concert for the event with Bas Rutten, Sean Wheelock and Ray Flores calling the fights according to Triller’s latest press release.

The event, will feature 7 matches under the Triad Combat rule set which Wheelock has broken down here:

The rules may seem like what some call “dirty boxing”, minus elbows and shoulder strikes with MMA gloves. There are still no kicks or takedowns but fighters are allowed to, “use their feet to trap their opponent and gain a tactical advantage.” The triangle shaped ring is smaller than what any boxer or mixed martial artist may be used to, so that could prove difficult regardless of the competitors experience or background.

These are the fights announced for the event:

Frank Mir vs. Kubrat ‘The Cobra’ Pulev

Matt Mitrione vs. Alexander ‘The Great’ Flores

‘Platinum’ Mike Perry vs. Sakio ‘The Scorpion’ Bika.

Derek ‘The Stallion’ Campos vs. Brian Vera

Albert Tumenov vs. Scott ‘Cujo’ Sigmon

Steven ‘Golden’ Graham vs. Henry ‘The Hitman’ Gigliotti

Alexa Culp vs.  Angelina Hoffschneider

The main event between Frank Mir and Kubrat Pulev is the second time Mir steps up to compete for Triller Fight Club and against a world class boxer. His first time was against Steve Cunningham who defeated Mir via unanimous decision. Will the experience with Cunningham and a varied rule set make a difference?

Fans will have to find out this weekend. The event airs from the Arlington, Texas Globe Life Field and begins at 5 PM PT/ 8 PM ET.
