Power Half Wrestling Academy/Cressman MMA open for business and ready to thrive
Video interview with Jeff Cressman above
Power Half Wrestling Academy/Cressman MMA is now open for business and already contributing to the very strong mixed martial arts community in the northeast corridor of the United States. Matt Benedetti brings a division 1 winning mentality and knowledge combined with 15 years of NJSIA coaching experience. He is the former head coach at Hamilton High School West. Benedetti has teamed up with Professor Jeff Cressman who currently holds a 1st degree black belt under legendary Professor Carlos Catania. He received his promotion to the ranks of black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Master Brad Daddis of the renowned Daddis Fight Camps. Cressman also holds a “black shirt” in Muay Thai kickboxing under the Daddis Fight Camps as well as being a certified instructor in Tactical Urban Defense System (TUDS) which is a mix of Krav Maga, Muay-Thai, and BJJ used for real life self-defense.
MyMMANews made a little road trip to check out the new academy and I found it to be very welcoming. It is located right outside the main gates from Joint Base Maguire-Lakehurst-Dix at 39 Wrightstown Cookstown Road, Cookstown, NJ and is very convenient to New Egypt, Columbus, Browns Mills, Pemberton and many other surrounding areas. As you walk in the door, you get the cool effect that you are entering an MMA cage as you enter.
We sat down with Cressman to see what their strategy was and what they were offering. He tells us…
“Matt handles the wrestling side of things and is very good at what he does. We have been friends for a long time and his wife Stephanie is also a huge part of our team. I run the MMA side. We are building programs for people of all ages and also adding some quality coaches. The location has been really beneficial with the military base as people from all over the world have stopped in to see what we have going on. We love what we do and are very happy so far and believe the future is bright.”
